Frequently Asked Questions for projects
- What is the typical project duration?
Typical project duration varies based on the scope of the project. A single detailed illustration for example, would require 3-5 days. Lengthy projects with multiple illustrations will take more time.
- What formats will the final illustrations be delivered in?
Final illustrations will be delivered on agreed resolutions in file formats that are to your preference, including JPEG, PNG, TIFF, SVG and PDF.
Source files will only be delivered if you separately purchase a copyright transfer.
- How is pricing calculated?
Pricing of medical illustration is based on 3 factors:
Complexity: simple illustrations are priced lower than complex detailed illustrations. Base fee is INR 9000 for a single, simple line illustration, single use license. Animations and 3D work will incur a higher rate over the base fee.
Licensing: there are two options for licencing, single use and multiple use. Single use licence gives you the right to use the work for a specific project. Multiple use licence gives you the right to use it for two or more projects. Pricing is thus decided on how you want to use the work.
Copyright: for creative work, copyright of the work created resides with the creator. Copyright means that the owner of the copyright can use their illustration as many times in any format “copy” as many number of times indefinitely. Since medical illustration work is a specialized niche, purchasing a copyright for the work incurs an additional cost that is calculated based on the scope of work done.
Pricing for custom projects, consultation work is calculated as per project scope.
- How do I make a payment and what are the payment schedules?
